Sunday is usually my day off. It's the day that I can relax and unwind from the previous week. I like to have a bath, do my nails, take extra care of my hair, read my book or a magazine and enjoy the day with my family. I tend to wear no make up on Sundays. I like to think of it as the opportunity to leave my skin to rest and repair from the previous week. That's why my pampering session usually involves a mask or two!
It seems that there are 3 facial masks that I keep on using the past few months. Two of them are a staple in my cabinet, and the third one is a recent discovery that I really enjoy using.
Invisible Pores Detox Mask by REN
It is a clay mask that is supposed to minimize the appearance of pores and remove blackheads, living the skin smooth and toned. It has a herbal smell which I really like. It's consistency is like all clay masks: thick and creamy. I put this mask on before I go into the shower. You need to leave it for around 15-20 minutes, so in the meantime I like to dry scrub my body. Once the mask has dried up on my face, I jump in the shower and then it's really easy to take it off under the running water.
After I come out of the shower, I tend to grab either of the following two masks. I leave them to work on my face, while I moisturise my body and get dressed.
Multivitamin Power Recovery Mask by Dermalogica
This is a revitalising mask that it's aim is to rejuvenate dull, dry, dehydrated and stressed skin. The botanicals help to soothe and calm stressed skin while vitamins A, C and E repair any damage. Really impressed with this one. I always notice a difference in my skin after using it. It feels definitely softer and calmer. Don't get alarmed by the colour of your skin while it's on - you'll look a bit yellowy until you take it off. But it's worth it!
Aloe Vera Hydrating Face Mask by LR
This one is an intensive hydrating mask with Hyaluronic Acid, Sheabutter, Olive Oil and Aloe Vera. On the days that I notice my skin needs extra hydration, this is the one I tend to go for. It has a herbal smell and it feels light on the skin. I leave it on for 10-15 minutes and then remove it with warm water and a flannel. I really like this one! I hadn't used any products from this brand before, so I was pleasantly surprised!
What are your favourite facial masks you use to pamper yourself with?
