Sponge Tip Eyeshadow Applicators :: Give them some love!

As I was going through my makeup collection, I found this little box where I store all the little sponge applicators that usually come with the palettes and eye-shadow compacts I buy. I don't know about you, but they drive me crazy every time I open a palette!!! So I tend to store them in this little box I have. I tried to think of ways to use them (apart from the obvious one - to apply eyeshadow!) so that I can give them some love and I get some use out of them.

After some search online, these are the uses I found for them:

  • Apply lipstick as a stain
Especially with some very pigmented and dark coloured lipsticks, some times you may want a more subtle effect on your lips, more like a stain. That's where the sponge tip applicators come handy! They absorb the oiliness and apply the right amount of pigment on the lips!

  • Use it to apply lipgloss over a lipstick
How many times have you applied a light lipgloss over a dark lipstick, only to find out that after you've placed the wand back, you've tinted your lipgloss? I know I've done it before and I wasn't happy!!! In order to avoid this, you can wipe the lipgloss applicator on to the sponge tip applicator and then go on and apply the lipgloss over your lipstick! Easy peasy!

  • Apply glitter polish on the nails
If you want to apply glitter polish on your nails in a gradient effect like it's shown in the video above, then the sponge tip applicators can come very handy! Easy, quick and less messy!

  • Create a gradient manicure

Lastly but not least, you can use the sponge tips to create a gradient manicure. You can do it using 2-3 colours like shown in the picture above, or you can follow the technique shown in the video here:

After all this I definitely have some more uses for my sponge tip applicators! If you have any more tips and uses for them, please leave a comment below!
