I'm always searching for easy hairstyles that I can do in 5 minutes, for those days that I just don't have time (something that happens to me a lot!), or for those days that my hair refuses to cooperate and I have to find a way to tame it, so that I don't go out in the street like a crazy lady (something that happens to me even more often!!!).
Up until today, whenever I was using bobby pins my aim was to make them invisible! Nowadays though the trend is to do exactly the opposite! The more bobby pins you use, the more they show and the more colourful they are, the better!
You can use lots of bobby pins in the same colour, like they did at Cacharel, or you can use 2-3 in different colours and make a little rainbow design like Katharine Mc Phee did. If this is not your style, you can still use only one bobby pin in a shade that matches your hair colour (see Emily Blunt) and follow the trend.
Of course, if you want to follow the trend to the t, then follow the example of what Emma Stone did and make various designs with the bobby pins on your hair. Put them one next to the other in a row, or create geometric patterns, like the one at the bottom right picture.
If the simple bobby pins are just not for you and you want something cute and elegant you can use something like the one Kirsten Dunst has on her hair. You can find some amazing designs and colours in Etsy like these ones here.
Lastly, if you have only the black boring bobby pins and you want to add more colour in your hairstyle, then you can try and colour them yourself by using nail varnish! You can check the post Olivia from the blog 'My Favourite Things' did here.

One tip so that the bobby pins stay in place and they don't move around ruining your design, is to spray them with hair spray before you put them on. Or you can use dry shampoo on your hair before you create your hairstye. My favourite is the Au Naturel Powder Clean Dry Shampoo by Fekkai.
I really like this trend! It's easy, colourful and fun! I'll go right now and start painting some bobby pins! I'm thinking a very vibrant combination of fuschia and neon green!!
What do you think of this new hairstyle trend with the bobby pins?
